Introducing the Global Recycled Standard

Introducing the Global Recycled Standard

At VANITY GROUP, we’re always at the forefront of new innovations and practices that allow us to keep our footprint on the planet as light as we can, especially when it comes to the bottles that grace hotel vanities across the world. With Ocean Bound material and Post Consumer Recycled material already utilized across our designer playground of brands, we are delighted to be introducing the Global Recycled Standard certification to our ever-growing sustainability initiatives.

What is the Global Recycled Standard?

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS for short) is a certification awarded to third parties that tracks recycled materials from source through the final product. GRS verifies that the recycled materials used comply with best practices across environmental, social, and ethical factors. This covers the working conditions in the factories where the material is processed, the environmental impact of the supply chain, through to the production of the finished product.

Pretty impressive already! But GRS have gone one step further, by creating a Transaction Certificate. This revolutionary approach means that the recycled material is completely traceable along its journey. The end result? Peace of mind that the bottles in your bathrooms are better for the environment, and the people that are part of their production.

How can I tell if a product is GRS Certified?

It’s easy, every product that contains over 50% of recycled material that’s certified by GRS will have this symbol on the bottle.

Life beyond the bathroom

Once our GRS certified bottles have completed their role at the hotel, they can be recycled again, continuing their journey and perhaps even returning to the same shower one day in the future.
