How to make the most out of your hotel toiletries.
How Can You Reuse Hotel Toiletries?
One thing that we've learnt at VANITY GROUP from our year's in the industry is that guests love to take home the little bottles of shampoo and conditioner that we provide. And why wouldn't they? They're cute, practical and a perfect little souvenir from the trip!
The struggle for these collectors, however, is working out what to do with a drawer full of product. Well never fear, because we went around the office to get everyone's top tips for reusing your hotel toiletries.
1. Actually Use Them
We know, we know, this seems like pretty straight forward advice, but how many times have you told yourself that you're going to use your hotel toiletries, but then forget about it and hop in the shower. Well stop it! Take those shampoos and pop them in the shower right now so you don't forget!
2. Re-Purpose The Bottles
After you've used up the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower, why not reuse the empty bottles for your own beauty products. Simply pour out some of the liquid from your favourite foundation or serum and you have a nice little travel size. This hack is also especially useful in making sure that your toiletries are compliant with airport security.
3. Makeup Brush Cleaner
If you've got way too much product to just shampoo your head, a clever way to use it up is by washing your makeup brushes. Simply fill two bowls with warm water and add a few drops of shampoo in one of them. Give your brushes a good wash in the soapy water and rinse out the brush by swirling it in the second bowl. Leave your brushes to dry on a towel
4. Offer Them To Your Guests
Fancy unwanted hotel toiletries make the perfect addition to the guest bathroom. If your visitors forget their shampoo, they'll see these little bottles of liquid as a gift from the gods. Additionally hotel freebies also make great stocking stuffers or small gifts for a makeup or toiletries case.
5. Use Them At The Gym
When travelling to and from the gym, the last thing you want is a heavy gym bag being weighed down by large toiletries. You can easily pack your collected bottles and make showering after a workout a breeze.
6. Create New Soaps
If you've got a pile of mismatched half used soaps, the best way to get value from them is by melting them down and resetting into new moulds. You can combine different scents to create your own recipe and put them into decorative moulds that can be easily found at your local craft store.
6. Car Survival Kit
Keep hotel toiletries such as shampoo, lotion and sewing kits in your car's glove compartment in case of emergencies. The shampoo comes in particularly handy if you use a public restroom that's run out of soap!
