Year in review: Our Vanitians' favourite moments
VANITY GROUP’s Vanitians' all speak the universal language of travel. So, it’s little surprise our most cherished moments of 2021 revolved around wanderlust and connectedness. In celebration of the last 12 months, we did a global wrap around of the team’s favourite memories.
VANITY GROUP's Universal Language
Thomas Rol, Sales Director, Europe
“My 2021 best VG memory is meeting the whole EU team at the end of October in beautiful Paris.
As everyone has been locked down during the year, this first face to face team meeting together with Paul and Alex really reminded me that it is all about people. Job satisfaction is 80% created by the people you work with!”
Naomi Rheinberger, Head of Marketing & Communications
“It’s not often I struggle for words, but trying to pinpoint 2021’s best moment is tricky!
I’d have to say launching our UK and Middle East office tie for first place. We directed and shot all content from our Sydney office, using our wonderful people to capture the bold DNA and creativity of VANITY GROUP. Our superstar creative team then spliced the footage into world-class masterpieces. I’m inherently proud of what we achieved this year.”
Victor Pugliese, Client Service Manager
“It is very hard to pick a favourite memory when you are surrounded by people acting bold and showing so much gusto every day, uncountable memories are made daily with this team. However, being able to go to New Zealand and meeting our beautiful kiwi clients face to face was an unforgettable moment this year and for my career. Being able to show our partners support via a personal interaction and a smile absolutely made my year!”
Robyn Arthur, Graphic Designer
“My highlight was the connectedness our team experienced during lockdown. We had video competitions and talent quests showcasing lockdown talents and hobbies as well as funny challenge videos. It was such a special way to maintain togetherness and gave a small insight into our team’s lives and passions outside of work.”
Daniel Blenkinsop, Sales Manager - Asia
"After a crazy 2021 there are so many memories to look back on. The highlight of 2021 would definitely be travelling to Singapore and Indonesia in April to visit all our long term partners. After over a year it was so special to re-connect in person and visit all the amazing hotels we partner with. Let’s just say my two week hotel quarantine was definitely worth this experience!"
Lydia Wa, Brand & Marketing Executive
“My highlight was doing a VANITY GROUP trip to Melbourne! We had been tasked with bringing to life one of our partnerships between KEVIN.MURPHY and Quincy, so we had the idea of creating an in-room styling channel bespoke for them – and boy was it a fun time! We worked alongside talented models, incredible stylists and insanely savvy videographers. It was a full day of non-stop filming, but we all bounced off each other’s energy for a successful day… VANITY GROUP, please send me again?!”
Martin Jensen, Sales Manager
“The team lunches! I work remotely in Melbourne, so anytime I’ve been able to spend time with the team has been a highlight. We have some of the best people working here and its always a pleasure to be spending time with the VG family.”
Kasper Shiel, Sales Manager - UK & Ireland
"In October just gone a trip was arranged to meet up in Paris as this was the most central point for all of us - as we are such a global bunch – it included some of the VG Dream team (though sadly not all!). Only in the past month had the UK and European team met Paul (our CEO) or Alex (our Head of Regional Sales) in person! That night we all went out for dinner, all crammed into a people carrier back to our hotel at the end of the night. It was so nice to be in one small space joking and laughing and finally reunited as a team that had never met, with the Eiffel Tower framed in the night Sky."
Nicholas Mina, Director of Sales & Marketing
“Seeing our happy, smiling people return to the office after what felt like a never-ending lockdown! VANITY GROUP truly stood united and stayed connected throughout the pandemic. It makes me proud to be part of a team who treat each other with empathy and kindness.”
